Our
High Defnition Wedding Videos
AJS and Associates wedding video can produce
full High Definition (HD) Blu-ray DVD of your special wedding
day. Christmas 2006 saw the largest uptake of LCD televisions
that were HDTV compatible. The next stage is the High Definition
DVD player. Originally set at £1000, people have predicted
that they will not be largely purchased by the public until 2008,
possibly 2 years after people have purchased their HDTV.
Just
one thing to note a HDTV without a HD source is just a
normal television with a standard source. DVDs are strictly
standard definition, so again a DVD playing on a HDTV is still
a standard television source and picture. SKY HD is a HD source
and you can truely tell the difference. There are exceptions to
the rule. Due to the late emergence of HD DVD and Blu-ray players
companies such as sony have produced DVD players that can maginfy
the resolution of a standard television picture such that it is
the same resolution as a HD picture. When a DVD is encoded at
it's highest rate of quality and played through a player the image
quality and resolution is very compareable to SKY HD. The important
items to note on the DVD is that it should have an upscaler and
should connect via an HDMI cable to the HDTV. We have tested our
Standard DVD on various 47" LCD Televisions connected in
this way and the image quality is supherb, definitely worth the
price tag of £75 for a new DVD player.
We
own a wide range of HDTV cameras from Sony's
HDV range. They are professional broadcast quality cameras
that are portable and are now well used throughout the television
industry. Some wedding companies say that they film on
HDTV cameras but only produce a standard DVD and people
assume they are watching a High Defintion Picture. A standard
DVD can hold upto 1 hour to 1 hour 30 minutes of top quality standard
definition video. If a High definition picture is four times the
size of the standard picture then it also takes up 4 times the
space on the DVD, or about 20 minutes.
With the recent launch of the playstation 3,
a Blu-ray player is within reach for most people. Whilst the PS3
is still around £400, it is remarkably cheaper than the
standalone blu-ray that was £1000. We can produce
a High Definition Blu-ray DVD of your wedding video should
you wish to have them. Because the media costs considerably more
than normal DVD's and other costs such as the computer hardware
and video rendering cards we have to charge people an additional
£200 for this premium service. You will need to indicate
to us that you wish to take advantage of this service before hand
so we film your wedding day on High definition cameras and everything
is edited in the High definition editing suites.
We have to keep and stay upto date with technology
because people book us upto 2 years in advance, so whilst the
players are expensive now by the time the couple get married,
a blu-ray player might be on their wedding list at a reasonable
price of £50 - 75. The main point to consider is that comparing
High Definition to standard definition is like comparing DVD to
video. Most people who have a video of their wedding often wish
that DVD was around such that they could have the picture improvements
that comes with the technology advancements.
