Lighting
Lighting next to
sound, is one of the most important things to get right for the
video production of music videos, especially if it is filmed live.
Most venues have structured lighting of one form or another. Some
clubs have good lighting systems, whilst others simply provide
a handful of white or coloured lights. For the smaller gigs this
can be a problem and most of the functions will not allow seperate
lighting. Sometimes this may fit "underground" atmosphere
of the band, but for others it can be a problem. Before hiring
us please check the lighting at the venue. You don't have to be
an expert to notice if the stage is well lit or not, and it may
save you money.
We
do have our own lighting equipment should we need to bring lights
to the venue, but this is mainly used when there is no audience
in a closed production enviroment. The main reason for this is
the available space or lack of it when lighting sets are used.
Sometimes we can add additional lights to the existing lighting
structure but this has to be prior agreed with the owner of the
premises. Most adequate venues have structured lighting and normally
there is no problem.
Our lights produce 800 Watts of light
from each of the Lamps and are suitable to light a large stage.
The lights are what are know as “redheads” and are
a standard feature of most production companies. We use professional
lights from a company called Photon Beard, which
use to make the lights for what used to be Pinewood Studios. We
can also use different gels to create different effects and colours.
