Cameras
We have a multitude of professional broadcast
cameras in both standard defintion and High Definition formats.
The majority of the cameras we use are from the Sony Broadcast
range. Our Sony cameras can capture in very low light and produce
broadcast quality pictures even under the most difficult conditions. They
range in size from the large DSR range of cameras to a small wild-life
HD camera the size of a lady's handbag. These are the
cameras often used in documentaries, and television programmes
such as changing rooms hosted by the BBC. They are chosen
because of the limited space and for the "hand-held"
segments which appear more and more in today's TV programmes.
Editing Equipment
One of the main differences between amateur
video and professional video is the perceived video quality. Most
amateur videos are not processed digitally and when they are they
are often rendered in software resulting in quantizsation of the
image making it appear blocky. The professional video prouction
teams use editing suites that encouporate dedicated hardware to
accomplish the rendering process making the image crisp and clear.
The dedicated hardware can also process special effects better
that appear more refined than the course software algorithms.
We have several editing suites and all have
dedicated hardware support. We also use professional editing software
that allows use to use a multiude of different time lines for
sound and image processing such that most of the current visual
effects can be recreated.
